I am a Neurodiverse Musician, Artist and Writer, interested in education, inclusion and various states of inbetweenness: including mental health and the liminality of grief, loss and longing.
Having studied Art History, and taught Art & Design in central London for 10 years from 2005-2015, I left teaching to pursue a career in music, and soon ended up turning my hand from song writing to creative writing, having been awarded a scholarship to studying Philosophy at Central Saint Martins (2016-2018).
Signed by Lance Freed to Rondor Music Publishing (Universal Music Group) in 2014, I released an EP 'Between the Earth and Sea' - earning high praise with my band before embarking on a 6 year career playing with Peter Perrett, (formerly of 'The Only Ones') on Domino Records.
As a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, I have toured extensively, and played festivals alongside London Grammar, Florence & The Machine, and Dizzie Rascal. I have been privileged to work with producers Victor Van Vugt, (PJ Harvey, Beth Orton, Nick Cave), Max Dingel (The Killers) and Greg Wells (Katy Perry, Adele) on my material as well as Chris Kimsey (Rolling Stones) for Peter Perrett. I have played live on the Marc Riley Show (BBC Radio 6) with Peter Perrett's band several times.
Lockdown pulled the plug on all live music, tours and rehearsals, and soon tragedy struck, further changing the nature of my life and work.
Three steps later, I'm now looking to develop my creative practice by combining my musical talent with my interest in writing, sound poetry and moving image, towards what I hope will become "(H)EAR" - an experimental journey of recovery.
